Two-mile swim sells out!
18 Jul 2018, 2:15 p.m.
All five of the two-mile swim waves have now sold out at the Swim Serpentine open water swimming festival on Saturday 22 September.
Entries are still open for the half-mile and one-mile mass participation swims. A total of more than 4,200 swimmers have now entered this year’s Swim Serpentine event.
"We’re delighted the two-mile swims have proved so popular" said Hugh Brasher, Event Director. "It’s great to see people signing up for this amazing open water swimming event in the heart of London. We still have spaces in the half-mile and mile events so it’s not too late to sign up and experience the joy of swimming in the Serpentine.”
The two-mile swim waves also provide the opportunity for people to complete the London Classics. This unique challenge requires participants to run the Virgin Money London Marathon, cycle 100 miles in the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 and swim two miles at Swim Serpentine, the open water swimming festival. Everyone who completes this iconic trio of events will receive a specially designed London Classics medal, engraved with the words Et ego Londinium vici (I too have conquered London) and will be listed in the London Classics Hall of Fame.
Entries are open now for:
- Half mile: entry fee £25.00 (minimum age 12 years on 22 September 2018)
- One mile: entry fee £39.00 (minimum age 16 years on 22 September 2018)
Swim Serpentine is a one-day open water swimming festival staged in the heart of London on Saturday 22 September. Organised by London Marathon Events, the festival is held in and around the beautiful Serpentine in Hyde Park, the venue for the open water swimming competition at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Now in its third year, Swim Serpentine is already a must-do event in the open water swimming calendar. The programme features half mile, one mile and two mile swims and all the needs of swimmers are catered for with heated changing rooms, dunk zone, pontoon start and finish, full water safety crew, hot tubs and festival area.
Every swimmer in the one-mile event will be able to choose a specific start wave which go off at regular intervals during the day. Wetsuits or tow floats are compulsory in all events. Both wetsuit and tow-float hire will be available beforehand and at the Serpentine on the day.
