Inspire a friend to swim

Children with Cancer UK Swim Serpentine is an open water swimming festival that features something for everyone: whether you’re new to outdoor swimming, or you’re an experienced open water expert looking to take on the Super Six event (which has sold out for 2019).

The festival takes place on Saturday 21 September in Hyde Park in London.

If you have friends who would like to try their first open-water adventure, why not encourage them to sign up for the half-mile or one-mile distances at the event? There’s even a women-only wave at 09:00, which offers the opportunity to enjoy a relaxed early-morning swim as Hyde Park begins to come to life.

The half-mile swim

The half-mile event at 08:30 on Saturday 21 September is open to children aged 12 and older, so if you have a budding open-water swimmer in the family, this is a great option for them. The entry fee is £25 for the half-mile event.

The one-mile swim

The one-mile event features one lap of the Serpentine and is open to children aged 16 and older. The entry fee is £42. Places are still available in the last two waves of the day from 16:00 on Saturday 21 September.

“It was fantastic. The best environment for my first open water swim. I participated with a friend and we both loved it. The atmosphere was amazing.”
